To catch black seabass at Long Island Sound you should try bottom fishing with live bait.
There are plenty ways to catch stripped bass here. If fishing from a boat, you should try slowly trolling sandworms behind your boat. If fishing from the shoreline, try surf casting using a spinning rod with live, cut, or artificial bait attached in the place where birds are active on the top of the water.
Stripped bass can be legally caught here between April and mid-December. Black seabass - from June through the end of the year.
