The season for brown and rainbow trout at Round Valley Reservoir is year round open. There is 12 inches of minimum length limit and the daily limit of 2 fish of this species combined.
Please, be aware that during the period from January 1 to Sepember 15 lake trout is for catch and release only. You may have no more than 6 fish in the size range of 15 to 23 inches and 1≥24 inches when the season is open.
The period from November to May is the best to target lake trout. Trolling spoon lures or flies is productive.
Fishing gravel shoreline areas during October and November using small in-line spinners, corn or mealworms might help you to catch brown and rainbow trout.
Largemouth and smallmouth bass can be caught around grass beds in summer using a Texas-rig or a dropshot rig.
Bluegill can be easily caught from the shoreline using live crickets or worms.
