Lake Blackshear is a 8,500-acre man-made reservoir, created when a dam on the Flint River was constructed. The lake is located west of Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park, and has a 95-mile long shoreline, accessible for fishing. It also has great opportunities for boat, canoe and kayak fishing.

Try using live shad and white jigs to catch striped bass at Lake Blackshear.
Minnows and jigs work well for crappie in March and April.
To catch crappie target deep water, brush piles and bridge abutments.
Try using different baits at different times of the day here. For example, topwater baits or spinnerbaits are productive in early morning. Texas, Carolina-rigged, and trick worms and crankbaits - later during the day.
