Only one smallmouth bass per day may be caught at Chickamauga Lake. The minimum length limit is 18 inches. Night fishing is the best option for smallmouth bass during summer. In winter using live baits is more preferable.
Spinners, topwaters, lipless lures, swimbaits, crankbaits and jigs are effective for largemouth fishing here. When the temperature gets warm fish move to shallow water.
Spotted bass can be found near rocky areas and shallow points of Chickamauga Lake.
During the winter months swimbaits, spoons, jigs, crankbaits and rooster tails work well for striped bass. Pay attention to the dam.
From April to May bluegill and redear sunfish can be found in shallow points. Live baits such as worms and crickets are extremely effective.
