The first boat ramp is located at the dam wall off Spillway Rd. The second ramp is located at the northern end of the lake. Both boat ramps have rotunda for shelter from sun and rain, BBQs, a toilet block. Fishing from these boat ramps is also a good idea in Bluerock Dam.
The best time for bass and redfin fishing is in the evenings in from October to March. Trout are more active in early morning during spring.
Surface lures work excellent for bream and perch in Bluerock Dam. Try to use lures that imitate grasshoppers, cicadas and flies.
Spinners lures and Tassie devils in bright colours are effective here. A 1-3 or 2-4 kilo rod makes your fishing easier.
